Jim had been (rather enthusiastically) on his way to the mess hall when the turbolift had deposited him...Well. Definitely not in the mess hall. Completely and totally not the mess hall, really. And Jim knew his mess halls. This was not one.
An entrance hall, maybe. It was large, and strange, definitely not part of his ship, and it contained no food. This just was not acceptable.
"Kirk here, does anybody read me?" The fact that the only reply on his comm system was static? Also not acceptable.
He tugged at the handle of the door (Which did not resemble the door of the turbo lift in any way,shape, or form, excepting that it was, well, a door), but it failed to open.
This entire situation was spiralling down from 'Not Acceptable' into 'Oh Shit.'
