Exactly what I've been thinking about the whole thing. Why intentionally offend people?

Did not know that about the South Park fiasco. Very interesting.

The other "pilers on" notwithstanding, we have CNN.com to blame for the inexplicable amount of NOISE that was created solely based on a blog entry on a website run by two idiots. I watched "200" on my DVR quite a few days after it originally aired, and afterward, I went right to my computer to Google for news stories about the fall-out I was expecting to see. To my surprise, it took me upwards of an hour to finally stumble upon RevolutionMuslim.com, and that's ALL I found. This was a day or two before CNN plastered stories about this blog on their homepage several days in a row. It was as much an advertisement for "South Park" as it was an attempt to fan a pitifully small flame ( ... )

Yeah, lazy journalists going for "it bleeds, it leads" have fanned the flames twice now in this controversy.

FBI officials in Jacksonville, Fla., say they have found the remnants of a pipe bomb used in a possible hate crime at a mosque during evening prayers.

Along with local police, the FBI launched an investigation after an explosion shook the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida at 9:35 p.m. Monday, when approximately 60 people were inside praying. No one was injured.

We heard plenty a week or two ago about a failed terrorist attack on American soil in Times Square, but not a peep about the above on on CNN.

I think it goes beyond laziness and is closer to an agenda over at CNN. At least once a day, you'll find a story linked on their front page about them crazy Islams but stories like the one you mentioned above (not to mention anything positive about Muslim culture) go quietly ignored.
