people die. no really, stay away if you don't want to be spoiled.
In an alternate Japan, the government is fed up with all the protests going on, especially from the children. So they device a program called Battle Royale: they pick one class, send them to an island heavily guarded by the military, and give the children three days to fight until only one child survives (or else they all die c/o explosive collars in their necks.) The island also has "danger zones" that they'll have to avoid. Sounds very familiar right?
anyway, here are some of my favorite characters, heroes and villains alike
Boy #5 Shogo Kawada | Weapon: Franchi SPAS-12
one of the mysterious exchange students in the beginning of the film,
he's revealed to be a former Battle Royale winner who had to kill the girl he loved.
Boy #6 Kazuo Kiriyam | Weapon: Paper fan
the other mysterious exchange student. nothing is really known about him
except he's crazy and BAMF enough to walk though an explosion
Girl #11 Mitsuko Souma | Weapon: Kama (Sickle)
the HBIC of the class. I still hate that her death didn't give her enough justice.
Girl #13 Takako Chigusa | Weapon: Jackknife
I love her mainly because I'm a sucker for unrequited love stories.
Boy #15 Shuya Nanahara | Weapon: Pot lid
Girl #15 Noriko Nakagawa | Weapon: Binoculars
and finally, the two protagonists of the film so you know what that means.
...aaaand lastly, here are some random caps I loved.
honestly just the amount of bullets it takes to kill one person makes this sci-fi. emphasis on the -fi.
