Tonight I went out with a group of folks from Knollcrest (the dining hall where I work) to celebrate Anna's birthday, and we had a pretty good time.
First, we drove to the skating rink downtown. We were there about an hour, but with walking to the rink from the parking plaza, getting our skates, getting our skates on, and turning our skates back in at the end, we only skated for about half an hour. Now, I've never ice skated (but then, neither has Anna), but I did all right. I didn't fall down, though I had a couple of close calls. I got to the point where I could go around 4 times without stopping, and then we had to go.
After the rink, we all headed to Cheddar's, a restaurant I'd never been to before. We had a long talk in the car on the way over about love and other stuff like that (it was Valentine's Day, after all). The restaurant itself was kind of like TGIFriday's. A few folks who hadn't wanted to skate were waiting for us there, and once everyone arrived, we ordered. I got the Triple Treat appetizer combo, but I only ate part of it and took the rest home. It had mozzerella sticks, chicken tenders, and potato skins, but I traded the tenders for onion rings. We all sang 'happy birthday' to Anna, and signed a big card for her, and just generally had a good time. It was a lot of fun ^_^
