Yesterday we got a new, high-tech time clock at work. I didn't realize just how high-tech until I came in today. I was supposed to have today off, but they called me in, which meant I needed the red card to punch in. After I did, the manager asked if I'd scanned my finger. I thought she was just joking, but it turns out, no, with this new time clock, we actually have to scan in a fingerprint in order to punch in (in addition to typing in our ID number).
They also changed the voice of the self-scan registers yesterday. Still a woman, but she doesn't sound nearly as perky as the previous voice.
