the more i think about it, the more mosh pits at punk shows seem kind of lame.
i mean- it's a planned thing now. i saw circle jerks with matt at fun fun fun, and the entire crowd knew that the center portion was for moshing, and no one was standing in it. then, as soon as it started, everyone went into it. no. moshing is supposed to be a spontaneous reaction to a song that your really enjoying, not for every single song. plus, i don't really think the punk community is down with everyone copying their moves now- i mean, there was moshing at a nada surf show.
so, if i may address this "punk faction"- you need to get some new moves that we all don't know about. moshing, crowd surfing, throwing beer, jumping up on stage...that's all the past. think present. why not have everyone spontaneously start doing pelvic thrusts to songs your really enjoying?
