Wheee! Leverage 2x01!
AWW, LEVERAGE! <3 I THINK I MIGHT HAVE TEMPORARILY FORGOTTEN QUITE HOW HAPPY-MAKING YOU WERE. TY FOR REMINDING ME! :D :D
First up: LOL Leverage is sometimes kind of bad. In an endearing way! The scene where that dude broke into Nate's flat then tried to kill him was so lulzy. xD
I like the switch around with the boss-person (which was possibly predictable to people other than me? Whatever! I like being slow! It makes my TV more interesting!) because I like watching them sneakily rework their con on the fly when it goes wrong half way through, but I still think that 'people who work in the finance industry' = 'evil (and now gloating about fucking you over and getting paid for it!)' is kind of cheap storytelling right now. I AM PRETTY SURE THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THE FINANCE INDUSTRY ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE COLLAPSE OF THE FINANCE INDUSTRY, NOT SMUG ABOUT IT. JSYK.
(Um. I was just about to start rambling to you guys about my extended thoughts on 'government regulation' versus 'personal accountability of individuals working in the industry' versus 'the general values of our culture' and how I think the relate to each other regarding the economic crash, and then I realised that NONE OF YOU CARE. But still! Cliff notes: I think individuals made misguided decisions for personal gain but I do not think those decisions happened in a vacuum, nor do I think being angry at (or demonizing) individual bankers is a very productive reaction to the recession. BETTER REGULATION. LESS CELEBRATION OF CAPITALISTIC CULTURE.)
There were quite a few moments this ep that felt very fanfic to me. \o/

A+++ FOND TIMES = Hardison teaching Parker finger quotes and Perker being a little insecure about whether she's doing this 'human interaction' thing right and Hardison being reassuring. SO CUTE. I think I have read that fic. *g*

Ooh, speaking of canon het, I approve of Sophie having a BF. I thought the Sophie/Nate last season was a little boring, and I'm hoping that steering away from it for a while will make it more interesting when the finally do go there (and they probably will, TBH). I never bought their will-they/won't-they UST, but I think making the relationship less available might make the UST more UST-y for me.
