Hoo-Yeah! Hoo-Yeah!!

Football season is over!! HEEEE-YAAAHHHH!!!

However, all is not well.
A) Mizzou got hosed by the BCS. Why? Because apparently Kansas is cuter and cuddlier. Or the Orange Bowl committee is a bunch of morons who value one loss more than two, despite the fact that said one loss (by Kansas) came to Mizzou. The chairman of the Orange Bowl said as much, that the real criteria was that "Kansas was a one-loss team and that was rare this year. We just think that makes them a better draw than two-loss Missouri. In other news, my game will get no coverage because the Mizzou Mafia will intimidate the FCC into blacking out my game, but oh well."
(I might have made some of that up)

B) I just learned the Dodgers signed Andruw Jones, a washed-up center fielder who CAN'T HIT, CAN'T FIELD (even though everyone thinks he can) and CAN'T WORK A GODDAMN COUNT!!! Oh, and he'll want to hit in the middle of the order. Of course, I thought the Dodgers already HAD the "washed-up, old man, can't-hit" center fielder filled with Juan "I used to be fast and for some reason no one bothers timing me anymore" Pierre. Somehow, I see the Dodgers finishing last in the NL West. And if they don't...they deserve to.
(For the record, that's two of my favorite teams either getting screwed or screwing themselves. Not to mention all the fiasco about poor Dennis Dixon and the Oregon Ducks. Sigh. Can't have it all I suppose.)

C) In non-related sports news, I continue my steadfast resolve of NOT asking Angela the cute copy editor out, as it's still one of those "It just wouldn't work, you're a little too (fill in the blank) and I'm a little too (fill in the blank)" situations. I hate to tell you all this, but life is not "Romeo and Juliet", or even "West Side Story". Opposites don't really attract all that often. Also, I need to revive the lagging karaoke night, plan a bowling night, and plans trips to Portland (twice now, apparently), Paducah, Ky., Memphis, Tenn., and Atlanta. But I've got until next football season.
