Five years into NaNoWriMo, and I finally picked up Chris Baty's book,
No Plot, No Problem. From the emails he would send out in previous years, as well as the stuff on the main NaNo page, I know that I loved the energy that he puts forth into NaNoWriMo, and figured that it would be a great help on any mid-month doldrums I might encounter. Of course, packing my friends list full of fellow novelists will probably have the same effect. Hello, by the way, to all the recent NaNo people I've added in the last couple of weeks.
Becca has expressed an interest in possibly doing NaNoWriMo as well this month, which should be fun!
We spent some time with Becca's parents today, looking at some pictures from their recent excursion to SE Asia, and they had some souvenirs for us. One of them was this lovely little golden Buddha that looked like this:
and, while I think it is lovely and have placed it on my desk, when I first opened it I almost started laughing out loud, because it sacreligiously reminded me of this:
