Three months into being a parent, the gender politics of parenting continue to amaze me. Most new fathers I know want to be active in their child's life, and most of them are comfortable doing things that previous generations considered "women's work", such as feeding and diaper changing and that kind of thing. Still, the "daddy daycare" attitude, that fathering is something for special occasions only, remains popular, and pops up in the oddest places.
