US politics

I haven't been posting about politics lately, especially US politics.  I don't know why, really, but this just amazed me:

"President Bush and Iraq's prime minister have agreed to set a "general time horizon" for bringing more U.S. troops home from the war, a dramatic shift from the administration's once-ironclad unwillingness to talk about any kind of deadline or timetable."

WTF?  Isn't this someone who was re-elected partially on his ability to portray his opponent as a 'flip-flopper' because he changed his mind on things?  Now, after spending years demonizing people for wanting to set timelines on troop withdrawals, he says it's necessary?  I don't understand.

Of course, the man who wants to be the next Rebuplican president isn't much better:
"We have a lot of work to do and I'm afraid it's a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the Iraq/Pakistan border," said McCain, R-Ariz., on "Good Morning America.""

Which means it's time to state a rule that I would have assumed needed to remain unstated: IF YOU WANT TO BOMB A COUNTRY, YOU SHOULD KNOW WHERE IT IS ON A MAP.  Same goes for countries you have already invaded.
