The past couple of day have put me in a terrific mood. I have fully experienced the greatness that is Ben being home....as well as all those other great people who have all been off at college for nearly a year!
Yesterday was absolutely great. I went to school, which was not so awesome because I was tired and angry that I had to be in school. I was not looking forward to after school because I had much work to do.
I stayed after for the EarthSave movie. But I didn't watch it. Alyssa and I sat outside and sold food and did our homework, which we had lots to do. It was a pretty good turn out...heard the movie was rather boring though, oh well. We sat outside, did our homework, and stole food. It was good.
Afterward I called my mother to come pick me up and I spent the thirty minutes it took her to arrive with Alyssa, Jen and Ian outside. Alyssa made me a crown out of some of those clover-flowers and I was king of all the flowers. I did somersaults! I even took off my shoes and ran around campus barefooted. I felt free.....ON THE WOODSTOCK ACADEMY CAMPUS???!!! I didn't think it was possible either!
My mother picked me up and we took Caroline to dance and I went to Vickies to finish homework. My mother and I talked about stuff and then she left to watch Caroline dance for a bit and I was left alone until John Nickerson showed up and we discussed "The Killer Angels" I mainly listened to him make sarcastic jokes about it. Other people showed up and they went outside and I hurriedly got my questions done so I wouldn't have to worry about them.
More and more people began to show, as it was open mic night and all the college kids are home! Vickies had not been so lively in a very long time and I realized how I missed the greatness of everyone being there hanging out. And I realized that, of late, it had become a place where I sit in a corner all alone doing homework....which is really depressing. But last night it was just great to have everyone home.
I played some songs with my brother on saw, which hasn't happened since last summer. It was good. Other people played. And Ben played. And then it ended. And Taylor and I tried to jam on the out of tune piano in the hall...but it was very out of tune so that didn't happen.
Katie and I sat in the car and listened to some crazy slam poet and decided we had to go to the Audobon, sit on a hill, and have a ukulele jam sometime!
And then I went home, a very very happy boy. I studied for my Latin test and then went to bed...it was midnight.
I woke up at about 2 in the morning and felt like I needed to get up and walk around. So I did. Then I went back to sleep and woke up for school and was actually AWAKE! I feel it must have had something to do with my unusual good mood.
Brought my uke to school and played it in the lobby, even though I should have been studying Latin...
Almost went to history first...which I had to go to bio. So I went to biology. And sat through death. And then went to history and fell asleep during the movie because my awakedness was beginning to wear off.
Art was fine. We drew eyes.
Sat outside at lunch, studied Latin and played the uke.
The Latin test was quite easy...except I hadn't studied one of the poems very well, so I had trouble translating it...but everything else was quite good, so I think I did quite well. I finally have a paper topic, which I think will be fun to write because I get to read "Our Town" again, which is one of my favorite plays, and compare it to three Horace odes!
Went outside and waited for the bus. Played the uke. Some redneck was staring at me and when he realized I noticed him he was mouthing for me to stop playing.......SO I PLAYED LOUDER! And he stopped. Put the uke away, and got on the bus.
At home I took several short naps, each of them was followed by a random bout of energy...and then I would collapse on the bed again.
I had to go to the Art Awards Ceremony today where I received an award for excellence in Art 1! That was fun. There were cookies and Alyssa and I had coffee.
I went back to my father's for a bit.
Now I am at my mother's and I need to study for bio.
