Oh dear Brideshead...

Firstly, I hope everyone had a nice new year! I went to St Ives in Cornwall, it was lovely. Its a small town, so everyone is there on the harbour on new years eve, and EVERYONE goes in fancy dress, it was like being at an anime con. People were very inventive, it was lovely! Also very relaxed. In London everything is big and official, and police ask you to stay still, whilst everyone justs sits around waiting for the fireworks. In St Ives the fireworks are set off by random citizens (most not at midnight!) and the only way we figured it was midnight was when a mexican wave of a roar came from the crowd on the beach. I highly reccomend St Ives for a new years eve!!

Secondly, our Mum has introduced us to Brideshead Revisited (the 1981 tv series), and oh dear I cant believe how amazing it is! I havent felt this engaged/squeeish/obsessed with a series since I was a teenager, but its soooo good! Very subtly written, wonderful build up. Amazing characters, I havent felt so much sympathy for a character as I do for Sebastian, I think and worry about him like a real person lol
And watching his slow break down is amazing, its really what tv series were made for, to use that kind of time/length to really show the emotional workings of a character so well.
Has anyone else seen it or maybe read the book? Watch the series if you havent already ;_;
