solaris...oooh...
just watched the Russian film Solaris! that was amazing! and very, very interesting in many ways. Its a good example of how if you make the most of visuals/sound you can take a fairly simple premise and put alot of themes and ideas into it. I got the film originally because I saw one clip which I found captivating (this mezmorising scene where you follow a car through a motorway, with this fantastic sounds/music in the BG, and some shots of a pilot pondering/of a city..) purely bvecause of its visual/sounds, but having watched it now I see how fantastic it is in story as well...wow!
Has anyone else seen the original Solaris? what did you pick up on the most in it?
On a lighter note, I totally dug the Russian language, I love the way they pronounce things and end sentences, I want to learn russian!
