I read the Hunger Games trilogy. Verdict: meh. Epic awesome pacing, pretty cleverly confused protagonist, but still meh. I didn't care about anyone and the parable was too unsubtle.
Oh, Walking Dead. You had so much promise, and now I'm bored. Still better than the comic.
Human Target, in the other hand, knows how to bring the lulz (and the expolsions!) but my heart has been stolen by The Vampire Diaries. Just started watching last week, almost caught up. The show is quite different to the books, which is interesting, and now I love basically everyone. Especially Caroline. CAROLINE! You were one note and petty in the books, and now you're sympathetic and awesome and a BAMF (as of season 2). Also, Damon's ridiculous face! SO MANY TWITCHES. Also, they keep paying out Twilight. Also, BROTHERS. Srsly, the massive co-dependence and grabby touching and the faces and the forgiving actually EVERYTHING OF EACH OTHER and have been hanging out for DECADES makes me wonder why there's anyone left shipping Sam/Dean. Stefan/Damon is very very nearly canon and it's messing with my mind. It's like: do the CW writers know? Are they in the slash forums? Are they watching us now? But Elena is not useless and sidelined at all, so, threesome?
Speaking of near-canon taboos, go see Wild Target. Everyone in that movie is a sociopath, it's awesome. Bill Nighy! As an assassin! Who ends up happily married to Emily Blunt and Rupert Grint! No really! (Coming out of the cinema, I heard one middle aged lady say "I thought he was going to have sex with Ron Weasley." Classic times.) Martin Freeman is there as a sadist with too many too white teeth. Rupert Grint's multiple bath scenes and Bill Nighy holding a gun are worth the price of admission. Also, all of Emily Blunt's outfits.
humanity. i love you.
