So, I've been getting quite excited about Supanova for a few weeks, because cosplay is awesome, because Faith will be there, because I will be Gretchen from Wolf House.
Tonight I thought to myself, as I was trying on my teeth, "I should buy tickets. Just so I don't have to line up at the door." And Ticketek said "no longer on sale". In red letters. Never seen that before
What does that mean? Does that mean sold out? Does that mean they've over sold to Twihards and fear capacity overload? If I just turn up on Sunday with some money, will I get in anyway?
Man, it was easier to get into university then this.
Also, I can't seem to stop watching the A-Team. It seems to be filling the gap left by Top Gear. The boys club-racist-sexist-let's blow some shit up gap. Top Gear, however, is better edited, written and acted, and also british. The A-Team has Dirk Benedict and that one James Bond parody episode where Murdock spends the whole time talking in a bizarre accent that appears to be directly between Sean Connery and Roger Moore.
I miss Top Gear.
Hang on, Dirk Benedict just gave me an idea. What if all the silly 80's shows were given the BSG treatment? Filled with excellent actors and treated realistically? (For a given value of real, obv.)
I, for one, would watch the fuck out of a female B.A. driving a van full of adrenaline junkies and guns around America, running from the government, being a team in the bad ways as well as the funny ways, saving people, suffering strangely, having bad dreams and getting venereal diseases.
Actually, thinking about what the Wire did to cop shows, what Deadwood did to Westerns, what TSCC did to robots and what Torchwood sort of did to aliens, how far can a genuinely disturbing McGuyver adaptation starring Leonardo DiCaprio be?
Don't even start on comic book movies, that is a whole other kettle of kidneys.
Also, I made a peanut butter cup pie. No peanut butter cups were used, but there was a cup of peanut butter and a cup of chocolate chips and a pack of Oreo's and a bunch of cream cheese and I'm going to have another slice.
grrr,
what? humanity,
i need a life
