I love it despite its godawful science, its toothy female villains, the fact that the black people died first. All these clumsy, heavy-handed and occasionaly offensive things get waved aside in the face of its prevailing charm.
Really really love Matt Smith. And obviously need a new icon. He's believably alien, if that makes any sense, and scarier then Tennant and Eccleston put together because of it. He's quicker to anger and closer to crazy and that's awesome.
Amy continues to be hilarious and a little girl and a woman and I do quite like her. I was pleasantly suprised by Rory, and the way he fitted into his role. I want to take back all the whiny things I said about marginalised spouses because Rory is a nurse and he did the research and said the right things, the complainy things but also the supportive things and he is one of the boys.
The whole vampires actually being flying fish from space thing is just exactly what it is. Why a toothy fish alien even carries a sword, I don't know, and I don't really care. I'm that blinded by love.
Also, I've run out of words concerning Ashes to Ashes. THERE IS STUFF THAT IS GOING ON AND IT IS SCORED BY U2 AND SPANDAU BALLET. and also might be biblical, perhaps platonic, at the very least un(der)worldly. what the hell is there to say about that but *FLAIL* and *HANDS* and hearts and stars and photographs.
ETA OH WAIT NO I HAVEN'T RUN OUT OF WORDS.
My theory on Paul Thordy (and by extension, Sam Tyler)
OK OK so people want to know how Paul knew so much about Sam, how he knew the tagline and time travel and all. Thordy was Sam's last collar, before he died/disappeared/evaporated, and maybe Sam knew something was coming. Maybe it was all disolving in front of him, maybe he thought his time was running out and started crazy ranting about all the truths and committed suicide (again). He imprinted on Thordy and Gene covered it up because suicides are coward's work and he's not having his friend remembered as a coward.
I -- I don't know how this lines up with any of the other theories, like the reaper!Keats and ghost!Gene theory, but I kind of like it. Also not completely sure why Sam Tyler, the most loved man, would want to commit suicide (again).
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHSHOW. I just want to see the last two episodes, laugh at how jossed everyone's fic is and then cry until blue eyeliner runs down my face. There may be scotch involved.
At least I'm 100% sure Alex and Gene are going to get their near kiss interrupted. Or one of them will say something and the other will get all angry. I maintain that actual Alex/Gene is about as likely as actual Sam/Gene. Not going to stop me reading it, though. Any recs?
