[On the communicator screen you will see an energetic, proud-looking Teddie.]
Ladies and gentlebears!
[He gestures dramatically at the 'audience' with his right hand--there's a small stack of papers in his left.]
You know what I thought? We all need some cheering up. Soooo.... Yours truly decided to write a story!
[He adjusts the communicator's position to make sure it's pointing at him. Then, he makes a big show of clearing his throat and shuffling the papers.]
I think everybody will appreciate my literary prowess, so without further ado...!
[Finally, he flips to the first page and begins to read the contents aloud.]
"Once upon a time, there was a peaceful village on a tall cliff above a forest. The village's name was Inaburg! It was filled with humans, big and small. It was a pretty nice place to live. There wasn't a lot of crime and most people were very friendly and generous."
"But one chilly, winter day, a dark shadow completely covered the village, darker than any storm-clouds the villagers had seen before. In the sky..." [Teddie pauses here for the sake of dramatic emphasis.]
"...was a big dragon! The villagers below were scared stiff of the flying fellow, and so they started to attack him! They threw rocks at him and fired arrows! Flaming arrows! Flaming arrows covered with fire-proof fleas, so that they would make the dragon itchy! They even brought out cannons! It was a complete melee! They had never seen a dragon before, and they all assumed he would eat them."
"Except the dragon, whose name was Eddy, didn't want to eat the villagers. He was really a nice dragon, who liked flowers, chocolate, and bears. But did the villagers stop to ask him for his name or inquire about his favorite animals? No they didn't...! And so they kept attacking Eddy, who didn't know what he had done wrong. All Eddy wanted was to make friends and be liked, but nobody wanted to give him a chance."
"So the battling and bullying and bruising continued... Until a brave young man stepped in! His name was Seji, and he was smart and understanding. He told everyone to stop their brutal attacks. Eddy the dragon hadn't done anything wrong, and it wasn't fair to be mean to him without hearing his side of the story! And because Seji was so respected in the village, they listened to him and stopped hurting Eddy."
"Seji befriended Eddy, who eventually decided to give the people of Inaburg another chance! For the first time, Eddy had found people that liked him! And the villagers never hurt another dragon again. The end!"
[With that, Teddie pulls up a last piece of paper. On it is an illustration of 'Seji and Eddy'. It's drawn crudely in marker and the paper is crinkled, but it's clear that Teddie put effort into it.

And that's the story. Beary impressive, isn't it?
Thanks for listening, my lovely audience!
