The weekend... of DOOM! =P

Thurs: Somehow it seems Th makes its way into the weekend update more and more =P My FF:CC group (wooko, islandergirlro, and chibininja) beat the game on Thurs. Hell, we *were* on year 16 =P Though more importantly we had to finish it because a) chibininja is leaving tomorrow and we don't know if/when he's returning :/ and b) we need to make room for Four Swords when it comes out ^_^ The last level was actually surprisingly easy, but that's surely in part to us being buff and 2 of the players having beat it in a different group before, so they knew what to expect.

Fri: The biggest thing on Fri was learing of the recent and sudden death of the wife of my friend Rik. I was pretty shakey all day at work after hearing about it in the morning. I plan on going to the funeral this Wednesday.

In lighter news, I went to my friend Aaron's bachelor party that night (he got married on Sunday). It was a pretty low-key event, we just went to Gameworks, got food, bought him drinks (not a whole lot tho :/ but I *did* buy him a Liquid Cocaine ^_~) and played lots of video games. We ended up playing a lot of the Indy 500 game since we had 2 hour passes and at least 8 people willing to play from our group ^_^ I have to brag a lil' and say I *did* take 1st twice, once on the easy track and once on the medium track ^_^ I have to say, I really *do* enjoy racing games when I'm playing them using a steering wheel and pedals. I can't play most racing games for shyte on a controller ><

Sat: John was back to class, but since I still had his keys, I had to go in at 10a to open up. Since I was already there, I decided to go to class from 10a to 12p instead of waiting around and doing 11a to 1p as usual. I have to say, the first class kicked my ass >< but it was a good ass-kick ^_~

After class I headed up to capnexposition's place to pick him up for Tank's mostly impromptu going away dinner that night. We went to Fujiya, we being, myself, capnexposition, islandergirlro, fugli and chibininja (duh, Tank had to be there =P). I was retarded and ordered a Rainbow Roll when I should have known that the sushi chefs would send a few complimentary rolls our way as well >< too much fud @_@

Afterwards, we had to take Tank home then rush up to Seattle to catch Primer. Which I have to say I really enjoyed. I found it very engaging. The director was there for a short Q&A session after the film, which was interesting. He did say that it was going to be distributed on DVD, which I will be very happy to pick up a copy when it comes out. As far as describing the film goes, I think Eric came up with the best one, calling it a cross between Pi and Groundhog Day. That was kinda funny, because before Eric told me that one, I leaned over to Ro and said I thought the movie was like a fukt-up Groundhog Day. Then Eric came up with the more apt version ^_~

Sun: Went to my friend Aaron's wedding. It was a nice wedding, held up at a mansion at a park in Redmond (I've forgotten the name already ^^;;) Luckily, it was a nice day for the wedding and reception. Man, it was at once weird to see him get married, but also very...right. He and Gwen seem to be a good pair. I just hope this doesn't mean I'll end up seeing even less of him than I do as it is =PP

Afterwards, I headed back down to Tacoma to meet up at wooko's parents' place for some BBQ action. I don't think I ate quite as much food as I normally do at one of his parents' BBQs, but I ate plenty enough ^_^ We spent a lot of time gaming, and then decided to go catch The Day After Tomorrow. Which, IMO, should have actually been named "The Day Of". I found it an average hollywood human drama film. I was a bit disappointed because it didn't fall into my expectations, because I thought it was going to focus more on the aftermath of the disaster, and not so much on the events of the disaster itself. Ah well. I think also since I had seen Primer the night before, I was all in art film mode and had artificially inflated standards =P that, or I was just more willing to express those normally inflated standards =PPPP Anyways, I was still entertained by the movie, even though it was full of Hollywood hokeyness. I wouldn't recommend full price for the movie, myself. But I wouldn't say it's not worth seeing, either. What I *am* very excited to see though, is Chronicles of Riddick when that comes out next week ^_^

siff, movies
