the shadow spreads up onto the wall; a twisted ejaculation spewing from my toes. it's an evil force absorbing any light that it can grasp. i run for the light so that i might be saved from the abyss of darkness, but the closer that i get to the lamp the larger the shadow grows. the only way i can think to avoid the void is to eliminate the source of its strength. i turn off the lamp, and i am relaxed for a brief moment when i realize that the shadows have overtaken the room. i am left alone, drowning in my fear
