I went and saw the Pippin preview last night. It was really good, and Jesse did well. Everyone did well. I was happy to see everything come together.
What pisses me off? The faculty adviser is all buddy buddy with some of the people in the cast and crew.
Now, I don't have a problem with faculty making themselves available to the students. But she is clearly biased towards the director and one of the actors.
When Jesse went to his adviser and vented about some of the problems he was having with the director acting really unprofessional in and out of rehearsal, his adviser told him he should go talk to the show's faculty adviser about it because he had also seen inappropriate behavior.
Jesse was hell-bent on going to the faculty adviser. Thankfully, Ava and I managed to calm him the fuck down and convinced him to just go on with the show.
If he had gone to the faculty adviser, it would've landed him in a pile of trouble. Not because he didn't have legitimate complaints (he did), but because the faculty adviser is completely biased and thinks the director (a student) is some sort of god.
Seriously, what the hell.
I'm so happy he kept his mouth shut. I would've ended up on the news if he been given shit for being honest. No, seriously.
This is why I hate that Jesse's in theatre. It's all about who's sleeping with the right people - literally or figuratively.

I, surprisingly, am still aggravated, even when things go right.
Okay, so maybe I've been having trouble seeing the good in things lately.
Jesse was actually pretty amazing. He worked his ass off, with the dancing, singing and acting. I'm really proud of him. This is the first time I've ever seen him do anything major, and I was nervous as hell that it was going to be too much for him to handle. I'm happy I was wrong.
There. positivity, mother fuckers.
