Hello everybody,
I wasn't planning on updating this blog, but I saw a bunch of my friends updating because of the holiday weekend, and since I haven’t posted an update in about 2 months, I thought I'd give LiveJournal another try.
So, what has been going on with me? Well, not a whole lot. So, I'll just share the more interesting bits. [Warning: the following paragraph contains boring and whiny details about the past 2 months of my life, if you'd like to just read the thanksgiving update, skip to the next paragraph] As you all probably know I've been working this semester for
GTRI. I've had a really boring and uninspiring semester working for this company. I feel totally expendable and worthless working where I am working right now. The only good part about my job has been the traveling. I've gotten to travel to Fort Walton and Panama City Beach for business trips in recent weeks. I drove to Panama City and back. Which. from Atlanta, is no easy drive. I'm told I'll get to go back to Panama city in about 2 weeks. So, I'm looking forward to that. Other than that, I' just looking forward to being back in school. Yes, I must be going crazy to wish I was back taking classes at Tech, but I guess that illustrates just how bad my job is. I'll be going back to work for GTRI next summer, but I'm going to be asking for a transfer to another department before I leave this semester. Hopefully, they will put me in a much better department when I go back to work next summer.
Whew, ok. now for the thanksgiving stuff.
Well, I'm home through Sunday. I haven’t gotten to speak with anyone from the old briarwood days. So, if any of you want to drop me a line and say hello, my cell number is 205-223-8233. I'm going to see my mom's side of the family later today, which should be good. I always liked my uncle George and his family. Tomorrow, I'm going to get to hang out and go see "Walk the Line" with Drew, whom I haven’t seen since summer. That should be good. I realize now that Drew is probably my oldest friend. I've known him since we were both in Briarwood in the 7th grade. If you guys remember Andrew Brown from Briarwood junior high, yeah, that’s him. He has a promising start with a career in filmmaking. If anyone is interested, you can track his film projects on his site:
digitalmotionpictures.net. Other than that, I wanted to mention that the Ga Tech/ UGA game is tomorrow night at 7pm. Sadly, its not going to be on tv here in Birmingham. This game is the Iron Bowl for the state of Georgia. And Ga Tech is hosting the game this year. I think Tech has a decent chance at beating Georgia. After all, we beat number 3 Miami last week with an awesome performance by our defense. If they come out and play like that again, there's no way we'll lose. But we'll see how the game turns out. Ga Tech is one of the most inconsistent teams in the NCAA. We'll put out a best-in-the-nation performance one week and the next we'll play no better than any other team in the ACC.
Well, that about wraps this up. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving break.
