Being buried under mountains of paperwork ever since Lance had been hospitalized, Christoph had worked through lunch and hadn't come out of his office since the bathroom break he took a couple hours ago. Now he knew how much work it was to be head of department, the workload was frankly a bit overwhelming.
He was in the middle of a puzzling piece of evidence when he heard Drake's voice coming from the doorway, looking up he could see that at least Drake wasn't as depressed as he was a couple days ago, which he took as a good sign. "Yah, come on in. I'm just finishing somethings." Christoph gestured to the chair in front of his desk. "How're you doing now?"
"I'm being agressively unaffected," he said, sitting down in one of the chairs across from Christoph's desk. "Break-ups happen and that's just the way things work out, right? Brave face and all," he said, giving him a quick smile.
Christoph was about to protest that but decided to keep his mouth shut, as long as Drake wasn't doing anything drastic then he supposed everything was okay. He nodded, "Want something to drink?" He opened the mini-fridge by his desk, "I've got soda, vitamin water, powerade, water, tea, juice..." He paused and excluded the selection of beer and scotch. "Or do you want something to eat? I visited Lance earlier today and so I made him some cupcakes, I have a couple leftover if you want some."
"I actually watched an episode of that show, quite interesting, really." Christoph said as he went to get out the container of cupcakes, "I think you'd be perfect for it too, I can see it now, Drake Bell on Celebrity Fit Club. The ratings would go up immediately." He opened the container and set the cupcakes onto the table, pushing it towards Drake.
"Yes, somewhat." Christoph smirked and took one of the cupcakes himself, but not before relocating a couple important stacks of papers out of the way. "I hope you don't mind Chestnut Cupcake with Chocolate Swirl Frosting, I found the recipe on a cupcake blog John showed me and tried out the recipe today, hopefully it turned out okay."
"Yes, I baked cupcakes." Christoph replied as he took a bite, "And I don't know what you're taking about, I don't have a soft and fluffy side, that's all just rumors floating around the water cooler." He chuckled, "Although I don't see how baking cupcakes counts as soft and fluffy."
"Cause they're soft and fluffy. It's an osmosis thing. You're also frosted, I think." He took a bite. "Mm, these are pretty delicious. I give you props."
"Rumors, and really Drake, you should know better than to believe everything you hear. But thank you, glad to know my culinary skills are appreciated." He paused in mid-bite, "Frosted? Okay, explain that one to me."
"Osmosis is a hard, scientific fact, Christoph. If you spend time around cupcakes, you'll gain the characteristics of a cupcake. The frosting molecules cross your, um, membrane. They move from an area of high frosting concentration, the cupcake, to low frosting concentration, you."
"Uh huh, nice try. You can't pull off the scientific look." Christoph laughed, "Right definition applied to the wrong process." He went to take another cupcake, "Plus, if we're going by your definition, it'd be the other way around, I think. I've had one too many cupcakes already."
Christoph just shook his head at the comment and opened the mini fridge, taking out two bottles of water, setting one down in front of each of them. He uncapped it and took a drink, "So, now tell me, what brings you here to my office? You're not in trouble with the law now, are you?"
"Nah, my producer told me I should come and give John a copy of everyhting we've laid down so far and I just thought I'd stop by and see you and tell you that I bought some of your gross beer as a thanks for Saturady. Mm, speaking of Saturday, after you left, Ryan and Jenae took me out and I met this guy."
