MINI FOOTBALL HELMETS
Back in the day, I used to buy a lot of those little plastic football helmets out of gumball machines. I had all the NFL teams (28 at the time), plus some old ones I found in my grandparents' basement that I wish I still had (like the old CB Browns logo and the Redskins logo with the spear). I also had a couple of Patriots ones with Pat the Patriot... I miss that logo. Recently I was looking at helmets like that on eBay, and here is something important that I used to tell friends and classmates and that apparently a lot of people didn't understand: If the team didn't have a stripe down the center of their helmet, the stripe on the sheet of stickers was white. But that did NOT mean you should put it on the helmet. It just meant they didn't have anything to print on that part of the sheet, so they left it blank. You were supposed to throw it out or stick it to your sister or something. The helmet looked stupid with a big white stripe in the middle of it. As a fan of a team with no helmet stripe, this was always clear to me.
And then there were the Cardinals, who had a white helmet with no stripe (I think they were the only ones). So it didn't really matter if you put the stripe on there or not.
