PRICE HAGGLING AT TARGET
I had always kind of thought you couldn't argue over prices at Target, but it turns out that's not always true. I was buying a new Swiss army knife to replace my lost one (which I still hope to find some day), and the only one they had left of the Hiker model (my favorite because it includes a very handy wood saw) had a rip in the package. It looked like someone had tried unsuccessfully to steal the knife from the package. So when I got to the checkout counter I asked for a discount, and the lady typed in $22.00 (the original price was $24.94), but then I said it was kind of a big rip and asked if we could just make it an even $20. After a brief discussion she agreed, so I saved about five bucks, the knife is in perfect condition, and I've already thrown out the package so who cares if it was ripped.
