I really need to update with the work I've actually been doing, but with the kidlings I haven't had time to get on here and write about the projects. Work is proceding apace on PSR and Corundum, I am also working on a small proof of concept game for the mechanics of PSR which I'm calling Kobold Kaverns.

I've been thinking about revenue models this morning and had an idea about donations. My primary idea is for donations to give options within each game, but each game gets an equal number of donation 'chits.' So, you donate 3 times, you can get 3 nifties in each game. I've also been considering how to allow donators to direct development and I started thinking about ransom models. In a ransom model, something is created but not released until a certain amount is paid, then it's released to everyone without further charge.

My idea wato release the games fully playable and fleshed out, but when I have new content to roll out have it ransomed. When someone donates, they get their normal 'chits' and they also have an option to put it towards content of a particular game. This way, if people are interested in a game getting fleshed out, they can 'cast their vote' to have content rolled out. This way, I can focus on the games people are most wanting new content for and try to always have something ready on each game.

I wouldn't call it 'ransom,' of course. Refer to it as what game they are most wanting to support. Perhaps an option to split it up if they're donating more than one 'chit' worth.

Any thoughts?
