Greyhounds often "chatter" their teeth whenever they are happy or excited. It can be subtle or as loud as playing castanets!

One of my Schnauzers would chatter when she'd get excited. She also made some incredible high-pitched staccato squeaks.

Did she also "talk"? My Godaughter's family had one that did, I swear he was always truing to say words. Which wouldn't surprise me being the smart cookie that the breed is!

Callie chattered and squeaked but Li'l, my third Schnauzer (and the one I had from birth because her mother was the family dog), talked a lot. She couldn't figure out how to do "K" sounds but she made "M" sounds, "L" sounds, hard "G" sounds, "R" sounds and of course all the vowels. We always told Li'l her tongue was too long for her mouth and that's why she couldn't talk right (her tongue always stuck out at least a quarter of an inch).
