Been so caught up in things lately that I had almost forgotten that we had tickets to go see
the Cult perform last night! Some of the manpanion's friends from out of town were coming to TO for the show & had also gotten us seats. It was nice seeing them at dinner (been a long while since we've seen them all) before the show. Then we pushed our way through the
TIFF crowds to the venue. The line-up of TIFFer's for the screening at the Elgin went all the way up Yonge & around the corner to
Massey Hall. Once settled inside, we surveyed the audience. It was quite the crowd: the expected punk/rockers, goths, etc but also ladies in nice linen sweaters & slacks, guys with long grey pony tails (type you'd expect to see at the Grateful Dead concert) 12 year old kids wearing dad's old high school Cult tee's, a man dressed as a pirate, mid-aged folks wearing clothing meant for teens (please, no!) and what not. It was an eclectic crowd for sure but they all had one thing in common, to watch the Cult play live & they put on a great show!
