Need opinions from those who haven't already given them.
Here's the cliffs notes.
1) One of the doctors does something highly illegal and unethical.
2) Animal dies in my care.
3) I'm extremely upset and angry
4) I leave work (early with the OK from David)
5) Doctor will not face repercussions because his transgression is known (firsthand) only to myself and my coworker.
6) Moral battle within myself about what to do.
I feel that by continuing to work with the doctor I compromise my moral upbringings, however, I need the paychecks. Its a behavior that the doctor has done before, and will more than likely continue to occur; in fact it has almost occurred again, except myself and my coworker called him out on it. I can't condone his behavior, I know I can't.
My solution is to discontinue working on the days that doctor is in. This, however, will eliminate about 80% of my income. So I think that I will get another job on those days with another clinic.
I don't want to leave the clinic, I really don't, but I feel that I have to stand up for what I believe in; for what is right.
What do you think? What would you do if faced with the same situation?
