it's a rant

i'm going to be really, really sad, and terrible feeling, in 2012 when canada decides to make CFL bulbs manadatory.

i liked the idea of these lightbulbs before i had them, mostly because the media shoved their good points down our throats. they last forever, they use less energy, they're nicer looking? what they failed to advertise, however, was the terrible health effects they have on people and how they are full of mercury, making them difficult to deal with once they do burn out or if they break. i heard one newscast where a family had to call in a poison control unit to check out their daughter's mercury contaminated room.

there's a controversy with these lights because some people (my mom) don't believe in the effects that these bulbs have on the human body. we got a bunch of these bulbs a year or two ago. there is one in the downstairs living room, where the computers are. there were at least four in the upstairs living room, where i spent most of this last year. both of these rooms were my main places to do school work, and this last year was my worst for concentration. i was thinking there was something wrong with me, but i'm 99% sure it is because of these bulbs.

i can feel the effects nearly instantly when i spend any amount of time around these lights. i get headaches, my body becomes sore, i get tired and anxious, i feel angry and it's hard to concentrate on anything.

before my computer broke, i spent no time at all in my downstairs living room. i started to notice in march how much this room made me insane, so once i got my computer, i lived upstairs. but since there are even more lights up there, it didn't really make a difference. at the beginning of this month, i've moved my wii into my room and basically stopped watching tv unless a certain show is on. i get less headaches and i can actually think. i've also been feeling a lot happier, which is always nice. unfortunately, every time i come down here to check the internet, or i go upstairs to watch tv, everything gets terrible again.

i really wish there was more research put into these bulbs before they decided to make them manadatory in a few years. these bulbs are going to be everywhere - in homes, stores, community buildings, churches, schools, workplaces, etc. everyone is going to kill each other and themselves. just watch D:
