Almost Gone (for whom it may concern)

Mar 27, 2009 22:00

In a room in the Mansion, Tyelko is dead to the world. He's still breathing and seems well enough, unhurt, but while he no longer shivers he doesn't wake either. Lost somewhere in his own mind, somewhere between memories of dark and pain and fear and a yearning that is deeper than bone, blood, and heart for a place he knows is long gone and lost ( Read more... )

His wife is here. His wife will always be there. Since the night where it all went down, she's never left his side, not even to feed herself.

Right now, she's touching his face, crying a little.

She should never have let him go rest.

Fingon: ....I'm going to do something about that.

Somewhere, he does register her touch, and murmurs something, quietly, words of love and adoration. But he just can't quite escape it, can't quite find a way to wake.

She kisses his face, trying again, as she has so many times before. "Tyelkormo, please. Rouse, love. Live is worth living. Please."

T: Feel free to give it a shot, Fingon. She may resist more than you expect, though.

His face almost spasms, stirring in some quiet dream, one hand clenching into a fist, but it's a response, a sign of life, and that's something.

"Oh, Eru." She sighs. "Please. Say something. Please."

There's a quiet knock on the door before it opens to reveal a pair of redheaded twins with matching expressions of worry. "Hi, Irisse."

"How is he?"

"There's no change." Equally quietly, but she steps to the side to let them in.

She probably looks terrible herself.

They look at her, then at each other. "Irisse," says one, "Why don't you get something to eat, and get some rest."

"Yes. We promise to get the moment there's any change."

"Eru, I can't, what if --- what if something happened? What if I was just about to bring him back?"

"Irisse." One goes to givve her a head. "You also won't do him any good if you collapse because you haven't eaten or slept."

"He'll need you in one piece when he wakes up."

"And we'll need you in one piece in the meantime, all right?"

She sighs, softly, and thinks of the child she is carrying. "Will you get me, then, if anything happens?"

"The second he starts to stir." They each give her a hug.

"Now, go eat and take a nap, we'll be here if anything happens."

She sinks in their hugs, both of them.

"I -- I haven't seen anyone save for Moryo since that night. Are there --- what about my brothers?"

"I'm sure they're fine..."

"They may be busy as well, didn't look like that was a good day for anyone."

"If we see any we'll send them to you." One kisses her forehead, the other her cheek.

"Now, go eat, all right?"

She nods, but she can't help but ask. "And you - what - what happened to you? Are you alright, did something?"

She's starved for infomation has much as she is for food and sleep.

One fliches slightly, the other looks worried, but they each grap an arm to escort her to the door. "We're fine. See?"

"Now please, Irisse, stop worrying about everyone else and take care of yourself for a little while."

"Tyelko will be fine and the moment anything happens, we'll tell you."

Why yes, they are dodging the question. But they also don't want to burden her with more worries right now, under the circumstances.
