It's so funny to ask people what kind of music they like, what they think about music, and listen to them go on and on and on about their favorite music...
then tell them that you want to be a musician. Their expression will inevitably change as they start to tell you how it's not viable and you shouldn't do it.
Do people not realize that the artists they love so much are HUMAN PEOPLE that took the risk to do what they love, and not martians that were dropped on the planet to serve entertainment to us? I mean, everybody loves art of some form, they enjoy it on a daily basis on tv, the movies, their car radio; but most people look down on artists as non-productive members of society. The hypocrisy is monumental.
In other news, I just got back yesterday from recording with my band Let's Get Invisible. We recorded a 4-song demo that is available for free download.
