I decided to celebrate my new computer-having state by watching Children of Earth. Yes, all of it.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT, RTD? I find myself VERY happy that you've abandoned Doctor Who. Stephen Moffat fucking owns you. For one thing, I'm pretty sure Moffatt WOULD NOT HAVE KILLED IANTO. You kill off 40% of the cast in one episode- out of the blue- and then four episodes later you kill off a third of the remaining cast? It's not unheard-of for me to shed a tear or two. I cried a little when Spock died, I got teary-eyed when Roslin died, though I could tell it was coming. The most I've cried at TV or movies before was the end of season two of Doctor Who, but for this, I was SOBBING because I was PISSED. And actually, Ianto's death could have been ok, if you had just handled it better, but that was needless and poorly written.
I agree with sunnyrea. This is not just the end of a series. This is a serious break-up. And not the civilised "let's be friends" kind. This is the kind of break-up where one party tries to run the other over with a car. I'll let you decide who's which party in that scenario, because I just can't figure it out! Even if the show comes back, I won't be watching.
