"We've been telling you that The Man from U.N.C.L.E. has been coming for awhile, but now we're not so sure. Our first news item featured a quote from Robert Vaughn, which was quickly followed by a listing at Amazon.com, and then the official press release from Anchor Bay. The listing at Amazon has since vanished, and the release may be in jeopardy.
We won't pretend to know everything about the release of the series, we'll just share what we do know. Anchor Bay licensed the series from someone believed to own the rights, but Warner Bros also claims to own the rights to the show. Lawyers at Warner Bros have been in contact with Anchor Bay, and the release of the DVDs has been put on hold until the issue of who owns the rights can be ascertained. How long will that take? No one knows. We'll keep you updated with information we receive, but we wanted to give fans a heads up since many were writing to ask about the delisting of the title at Amazon."
It is still listed at DeepDiscountDVD, which is where I pre-ordered it from, but who knows how long that will last. Hopefully, Anchor Bay and Warner Brothers will take into consideration how many people pre-ordered this title and will realize there's money to be had here!
Whatever happened to that woman who was the rights' owner who used to be on the Channels? I'm not on Channel D myself, but any word from her over there??
