Of blue haired men and the pegasus knights who love them (includes Ike/Elincia ...no homo?)

Are there any fans of Ephraim/Tana on the F-list? If so, I would hear your reasonings. I am pretty much on the fence with it. I want to love it, I mean, they look really nice together, but it's hard for me not seeing it as a girl with a small crush that mostly goes over his head ( Read more... )

XD I love that Gerik fanart.

Oh! It sounds like you've encountered Emblem Queen. I highly recommend avoiding interaction with her at all costs - she is 100% beyond reason, especially when it comes to Ike/Elincia and her bizarre hate-on for Geoffrey.

Seriously. I don't advise AVOID AT ALL COSTS often, but EQ is. . .really, really out there ( ... )

Sure sounds like it! Unless there's another wacky Ike/Elincia fan who likes calling Geoffrey a "pansy", in which case. . . yeah, hiding forever.

>__>

I have quite a bit, as it's my main focus. These are archives from my meta comm as it was easier to find, but I can find the original posts at my journal if you'd like the discussions and stuff too.
Ephraim and reality issues (endgame spoilers)
Ephraim is a lucky bastard (no spoilers)
Power dynamic differences between the twins (No spoilers)
Seth/Eirika fandom meta (touches on Ephraim a bit, mild hints of spoilers but nothing outright)

That's all I dug up that was directly Ephraim related - I have a couple of Knoll-specific meta posts (because that's what happens when you write a character with barely any info ;___;) but I don't think you've even seen him yet at this point in game, and it wouldn't make much sense.
(Psssst, this is the part where I pimp out magvel, too ( ... )

I see Ephraim/Tana as more resentful on Tana's end, myself

Yeah. Negative scenarios that keep coming to me include emotional neglect on his end and pent-up resentment, possibly leading to infidelity (hi, Cormag) on hers. And I'm not sure Ephraim would necessarily grok what the problems even were.

Yeah, infidelity I can absolutely see. And, as you said, I don't think I can see Ephraim ever fully connecting enough with her to realize there's a problem, unless she shoved it in his face - which I can't see her doing.

It's a recipe for disaster, really.

Ah, thank you! I will get to reading these very soon. :D

I have not had the pleasure of meeting Knoll yet, though I eagerly await him.

In my mind, I think Elincia would still have some romantic feelings harbored for him if he had stuck around and showed a romantic interest in her. However, I think she would become keen of his displeasure at his new role in life and would largely begin to feel guilty. Not only that, but I can see Ike pushing things off and even pushing himself away from her in his attempt not to punish her for the life he had come to hate.

...IMO...Heh.

I like that look at Ephraim/Tana. And it makes me ship it just a little more. *so messed up*

Hahaha, the most I can truly say for Knoll is that I really like the bit of backstory he gives for Grado. Everything else is skewed by my love of gloom and bookish mage men.
*shot*

Yeah, that's it. For me? It doesn't seem logical that she'd keep hanging on after he leaves. Not to mention, in FE9, the moment she meets Geoffrey (and Lucia, actually), her dependence and fangirling over Ike is suddenly drastically reduced. Says a lot, IMO.

Hahaha, me too. I do so adore the messed up ships. All my FE8 ships are pretty. . . dysfunctional. It's delightful~

I can't wait to meet Knoll heh. I think I will support him with Dussel just for the hell of it.

Agreed on Elincia. Geoffrey and Lucia (& Bastian) really took the heat off Ike, and all that jazz. (Speaking of messed up ships, it is total head-canon of mine that Lucia is totally and irrevocably in love with Elincia, just like her brother, yet manages to deal with it in a more mature demeanor. )

His Duessel supports are pretty excellent, even though they're kind of heartbreaking for him. The guy just never catches a break.

I can absolutely see that, definitely. I mean, I guess Lucia/Bastian is all right, but it really feels to me like a convenience pairing for both of them, especially since even in their ending, Lucia doesn't commit to him over Elincia.
I really think of it as unrequited on Elincia's part, though, which is sad :(

Excitement. When searching around Pixiv I could only kind one Knoll picture, and would you believe is was really really softcore porn with Duessel? I scratched my chin in intrigue.

I agree. Lucia/Bastian is okay (I do so <3 Bastian!), but Lucia's heart never seems to be into much of anything...except Elincia.

Ahahaha, I've seen that one yeah. Personally I don't see them as a pairing - but that's mainly because Knoll is so fixated on Lyon every time he speaks.

(You're in luck; I saved like, every Knoll picture I could find and put it in that zipfile, since I was so used to English fandom's lack of love XD;)

I love that potential heartbreak excites you. We must be kindred spirits.

Bastian is amaaaaazing, but yeah, that's how I see it, too.

I see Ephraim/Tana as more resentful on Tana's end, myself - I don't think after FE8 that Ephraim would be able to connect with her as she'd really like him to.

Yeah, this pretty much. But I've discussed this sort of thing with you, so let's keep this hush-hush for now. XDDD But ffffff plotbunny...
