So I haven't been able to update very much as of late thanks to the passing of my dear sweet computer cord. While I bought a replacement online, the mail seemed to find it fit to lose the cord...somewhere. I was told that I would recieve my order between the third and the eleventh. No biggie, right?
Well, come the eleventh and I haven't gotten it, so I borrow Joe's little netbook (that is almost impossible to type on) and check Amazon. I am informed that it was delivered on the 6th.
I am confused.
So we double check the apartmant complex's mail box. It would've gone in the box, so no one could've stolen it. Nadda. Joe went to the office and had them ask and again nadda. So I called the Post Office a few days back. The man on the phone said he would look and call me later in the afternoon.
Obviously he never called back.
So I called again the next day and a different guy checked for me while I was actually on the phone. His search came up empty handed, so he said he was giving my "case" over to some lady and would have her call me back.
Of course it's been two days since then.
I managed to claim a lost item report on Amazon, so we'll see what that can do. I really don't wanna spend another $20 to get a new cord. So I am at an impasse. I haven't really played too much online lately thanks to that (I'm currently typing this up on Joe's mom's desktop...whatta mouthful heh). Which also means I've gotten zero work done on my original novel which...displeases me greatly.
So theres that.
In other real life news, working at Southern Hands is incredibly difficult at times. Saturday night we got so slammed I had something of an internal meltdown. Of course on the outside I remained all calm and cool, while I watched a coworker punch a wall and another burst into tears. We were understaffed and our jerkass manager, John, was yelling at everyone for...everything.
I seriously considered quitting, which is somewhat surprising for me as I generally can take quite a bit of abuse. Well, anyways, in a single seven hour shift I made ninty dollars, just under my all time high of ninty two from Mother's Day Sunday. (Which is ridiculous!) Today was much slower thanks to all the basketball, but I still managed a decent, if not somewhat dissapointing, average.
Power Play is also going pretty well. I'm getting into the hang of things, I think. I work three days a week, with my new schedule starting this week. Currently it's Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 2 to 8:30. I am a little saddened at the loss of my Tuesday off- I do so love having two consecutive days off after all (one for getting stuff done, the other for relaxation :D) but I'll deal with the new schedule. Everything about PP is pretty appealing so far...except the fact I have to "rock out".
Oh. My. God. It's so friggin stupid.
I take a Guitar Hero Guitar and stand by the side of the road...and dance like an idiot for an hour. I'm supposed to do it as long as it's sunny. I hate it so much. Not only am I way too out of shape for it (not that that's a bad thing to lose some weight...heh) but it's super embarrasing and hot and...ugh.
Other than that I like the job though...heh.
I've been playing the Chrono games lately. I've managed to get quite a few endings in Trigger, in which I also discovered what may be the best party agaisnt Lavos- Crono, Marle with The Siren, and Robo with the Apocalyspe arm. Marle will constantly do 777 damage to the annoying defensive Lavos thingy, while Robo's critical (enhanced through the awesomeness that is accessories!) will do 9999 damage. Easy as cake. (And Crono is just the best character in the game, so he fills out the party well...heh)
I'm currently about to enter the Reptite Lair with Ayla for the first time. Ah, Ayla, my wonderful bisexual chick. You go, girl.
Cross has continued to entrance me. I do wish they didn't constantly through new characters at me though.
More character thoughts:
Lynx: Is super cute and cuddly looking. S-stop looking at me like that. No, I'm not a furry, but...he is! And his hat!
Harle: She is growing on me. I hope her plot is resovled correctly, she has a lot of potiential, and I'm worried it won't be reached.
Radius: What a badass! I really love his story and development. I would've never expected him to be so important to the story. I really like that. He's such a cool dude.
Sneff: He reminds me of my boss from Chao Praya, no, for serious! He's okay...I like him in battle. His battle pose is cool.
Zoah: WHO DOESN'T LIKE ZOAH? HE REMINDS ME OF SHAO KAHN. HE DRESSESS THE SAME. IT'S PRETTY COOL. HIS VERBAL TIC, AMAZINGLY, ISN'T AS ANNOYING AS SOME OF THE OTHER CHARACTERS. YAY.
Van: I like his storyline, actually. He's kinda snooty, but really smart. He's like...if Genis and Soren had a rich baby.
...Or something. Oh, and his dad in the Home World is hot.
Norris: While he seems kinda plain and boring at first
Zappa: Why is he married to a woman named Zippa? That seems so...odd. I mean, did she change her name when she married him? Did two people with almost completely identical names just happen to cross paths and get married? They also have a strange verbal tic...that they share. And they look quite a lot a like and...
Oh shit. They're brother and sister. Why didn't I see it before!?
Irenes: Wow. A Mermaid. That's...new. She's cool though, I actually liked the plotline between her, Fargo, and Nikki. Hey, let's let Nikki hijack this for a mintue.
Nikki: Though I didn't recruit him (I got Guile) he really is a cool character. His plotline in the Home World is pretty interesting. His relationship to Fargo, and relation to Marcy is cool. The Marcy thing seemed to come out of left field, but I have a feeling they'll be able to handle it well. I will most certainly get him next playthrough.
Um...and I'm sure there are others, but I forgot them so...yeah.
I'm about to go on the uber dragon quest of awesome. But I have work tomorrow, so I don't know how much I'll be able to get done. I'm digging the plot thus far (Poor Kid!). I'm looking forward to seeing how everything plays out. I loved the Dead Sea area, especially the part with the (ghosts?) of Marle, Lucca and Crono. I felt so nostalgic. (And Nadia's Bell!! So sadd!!)
When I finish Cross, I am definitely trolling the Chronopendium for awhile to read everything I can get my hands on heh.
Well...it's really late, and If I wanna have any free time tomorrow at all I better hit the sack. I have dishes to do too. Damn.
Hopefully the cord situation will be resolved soon!
