because if this was about the book, this entry would've been way way looooonger. LOL
Believe me I tried my best to resist the urge to do this post.
Buuuuuttttttt! Because Saturdays are fulfilling-the-family-duties-and-errands-kinda-day for me, meaning all I have to do is while away the time by making sure all the people (especially the gremlins)

Generally, the film is nice enough for a low-budget movie, which producers never really expected to be a hit at all. The low-budget situation is probably one of the factors that made the film subject to a lot of criticisms. So instead of blaming the actors who portrayed the roles, I'm putting the blame, responsibility and burden over the producers, effects people, music people, editing people, staff, crew, and several people behind the scenes. Now that the film has proven itself to earn a lot of money, thanks to the fans of the books and other curious people. I guess its success and popularity will push them more to spend more and have a bigger budget in order to satisfy the fans of the saga. They should have learned their lesson and start thinking seriously about making the sequels perfect for both readers and non-readers.
Yes, because I am a fan of the books, I don't want to ruin my obsession by thinking negatively due to the film. I think the film is not bad after all. A book is different from a film. That's why it is merely an adaptation. I think that considering the circumstances, they did well enough to give justice to the book. There may be a lot of flaws, but in the end, we fans will realize that the movie is only an instrument to make the story alive in the silver screen. Perhaps it's a tool for readers to see more and imagine more and appreciate the story more. After all, we all know that the story in the books will not change. It is locked and secured and final. We know and love the books and how each scene happened. The film is just an embellishment... a side dish. We are still free to imagine and absorb the things we love based on our love for the books. The film did not need to ruin it.
I realized this after watching the film for a second time. I thought that after watching it for the first time, I am not ready to give it up just because I didn't like how the film was done. So I gave it another try. This time, it worked. I watched it again for the third, fourth, and fifth time. And I think it gets better. I am somehow seeing it more clearly, appreciating it more, and enjoying it more than my first experience. It's starting to grow on me. I think I'm thirsty... for more.
