Valentine's Day Dance

Sylvie had never worked so hard on something in her life. Thankfully she had a lot of help and the dance turned out brilliantly. She used a traditional Valentines Day color palette for the dance...reds, white, pinks...a little bit of gold for accent. She kept it subdued and classy because Valentines decorations can get tacky easily.

Lottie knew other people were doing much more of a gown thing, but she came to DJ and dance in her fun little dress. Honestly, she was kind of already regretting the heels and would probably ditch them before her next set. Alfie and she had already switched once and she was coming off that set now. It was a little disappointing that this wasn't the crowd to do some real turntableist shit for, but there was enough stimulation going on with the pure crowd control and working the more-than-a-little improvised equipment to keep her interested and not straying from the set list.
Not that she hadn't brought some records to do that, if things got too boring.

Aiden doesn't want to be there. "Hey could you play one more Riley Bones song? I don't think you've played enough."

"Hey, you know what makes a shitty dj? Putting your taste before what the audience wants. So don't be rude," she shrugs. Is this even the kind of music she likes to listen to for fun? Nah. Does she love trying to work around so many acoustic ballads? Not really, but it's a challenge in its own way and that's something.

Aiden holds his hands up in surrender. He's a finally smiles,"I was kidding. I think when you have so many musicians in your life it makes you a music snob."He hands her a bottle of water. "You look nice." He shouldn't take his bad mood out on everyone else.

She takes the water, drinking a third of it before she smiles at him, "It really makes you a music snob. But hey, I got a block of disco-inspired R&B coming up that's really good. Gonna put some culture in where you can." She didn't do quite a spin but more of a wiggle to show off the beading on her dress, "Also, thank you. I'm really sparkly."

Aiden grins,"ok, that sounds pretty good." He nods as she shows off the dress, "That's a good color for you and it's very holiday appropriate."

"Dress to impress. I kinda thought about like, a whole gown situation but I can't dance like that. Sofie and Scott look great, though,"

"It is weird that two of the best dancers at school chose long dresses," Aiden hadn't thought about it. "I wouldn't be surprised if they have a warbrobe change at some point."

She laughs, "I bet! They totally would, can't wait to see it."

"I never quite understood why they hate each other so much, "Aiden laughed too. "They have a lot in common." He pasues, "I've never been a big fan of Sylvie's but lateky she seems different."

"I like Sylvie," she states loyally. Did she decide Sylvie Scott got an automatic update from 'person she kinda knows' to 'good friend' just a few days ago? Yes, and now they're ride or die. That's how friendship with a Weasley works, "Taking quidditch rivalries out of the pitch is pretty stupid anyway. 'S not like girls don't have enough shit to deal with, we don't gotta keep doing it to eachother too."

"I hear ya,:" Aiden said. "I think with Sofie is jealousy. Sylvie likes to push her buttons with Blue." He shakes his head which is dumb. Blue doesn't want anyobe but Sofie. I guess love makes everyone dumb sometimes. Jealousy can make you dumb too."

That really is dumb, all she can do is sip her drink and shake her head, "Blue's not going anywhere, boy doesn't even know if the world's still spinning if Sof just stands too close to him."

[bigbrotherflint]

"Yeah," Aiden does his best to not sound bitter. "But love makes smart people dumb sometimes." He grins at her, "Like I heard Holden met Pop. He nust really like you."

[lottawolf]

Just keep him in line she punched his shoulder. Not that hard, but still, "Pop was nice, it wasn't that big of a deal."

She pauses for a beat before grinning, "but yeah. I think he does."

"That's good. You deserve that. I want you to be happy." He pauses, he's getting in his head again.

"Hey, Lottie, I need to tell you something. Normally I wouldn't burden anyone with this. But I'm really struggling and it's affecting school and the band and quidditch and I need to get past it. Im not sure if I can get past it if I don't say it out loud," he takes a breath. "I have feelings for Blue. I have for a while. I'm happy for him and Sofie. I'm not angry at her. She's always loved him and I knew they'd end up together. So...yeah. That's a thing."
