Feet:
Well, for those of you who don't know, I have tendinitis in my foot. Ack. I went to the doctor because my foor was hurting and swollen. (and not a little bit. we are talking big time swollen here!) So, I walk into the doctors office and after quite a while of waiting and explaining the situation to 3 nurses and the receptionist the doctor finally sees me. He asks to see the foot and so I take off my shoes...to which he replies, "Wow, yep, it is swollen." Hmmm, I think I told him that much, but I digress, he gets an x-ray and comes up with the diagnosis that yes, i have tendinitis and that I may also have a hairline fracture. So he tells me I will need to where an orthopedic shoe for at least 3 weeks and if in that time it is still hurting then it is probably broken in which case I will need a cast. He also mentions that I should rest my foot, staying off of it as much as possible.
So, there I sat, in the doctors office, waiting on what would later be (not so affectionately) referred to as "the boot" - The world's ugliest shoe. I walked out (or should I say hobbled out, because the sould of my shoes were not at the same level and one is much higher than the other) of there with shoes that didn't match (and one of them is ugly). Those who know me well know that being told I can't wear heels and can't even wear matching shoes is not something that makes me very happy. AND I can't even dance... for at least 3 weeks.
WELL... that was 3 weeks ago. I went back to the doctor yesterday and he informed me that I can take off "The Boot" and can now wear matching shoes. YAY!.. So then I asked him the question... could I dance? (The knots in my stomach beginning to grow the longer it takes him to think of an answer). I informed him that it was only for about an hour, hour and a half once a week. So he said it would be fine, just to quit if it hurt, and try not to wear heels until the swelling went down. I am quite excited about this news :)
More Books:
I am currently reading a new book for my medieval literature class. It is a book of Welsh Folk stories. I have to admit that as much as I would like to find this interesting, I am having a hard time getting into it. I think that may be partially due to the fact that the names are rather long, complicated and impossible to pronounce. But, who knows, I am not quite halfway through with it. It still has time to get better.
I also am about to start reading An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore for my visual rhetoric class. I am not looking forward to that one. I hear it is not a particularly good one. But who knows, I hate to judge a book to harshly before I have actually read it myself
I guess that it all for now... till next time
