Well, wasn’ that cute.
Took me about five seconds t’snuff the candles an get rid of the other stuff.
I dun even know what the hell the song was playin on the CD-player before it hit the bathroom wall. But the evidence was gone, vanished, like it never was. Better that way, rather than look an idiot. Shirt was next, tugged off and chucked on the bed, slipping off the other side out of sight, leaving me in m’jeans.
I pulled the bathroom door closed as I passed it n’parked my arse on the couch, flippin on the TV, it scatterin multicoloured light round the otherwise dim motel room, I managed to get it to an interestin channel an take the first long swig from the JD bottle in m’hand before I heard the knock.
For a sec I pondered just ignorin it, just leavin ‘em out there in the cold. Sod ‘em. Let ‘em get rained on, snowed on, what did I care? I worked m’jaw around the burnin aftertaste of bourbon, exhalin through m’nose and feelin the tingle of the after burn there. With a half- growl at m’self I submitted to what was bound to be soddin inevitable anyway.
“C’m’in”
It was all they’d get, if they wanted more they’d come to visit the wrong soddin vampire. Guess this was to drive the point home then wasn’ it, she knew how I felt, so she’d brought him along to show me how things stood. How they’d always stood, I was a moron for thinking it could be otherwise. I took another swig from m’bottle and tried to focus on what was on TV.
Ignorin them for the moment as they entered.
