I finally wandered down to the lobby after having grown completely bored being by myself in the room that I shared with Buffy. Hey, it wasn't that late at night and I thought a little mingling and then perhaps a bit of exploring of the area surrounding the complex would not hurt any. I had tucked a stake in my right back pocket, it was pretty much ( Read more... )

Great. Just a person I didn't want to run into. Not like I had much say in the matter though. I'd just grin and bear it...literally.

"Hey Dawn." I offered with a small smile. "You believe the nerve of some people? I get they just went through a lot, but come on. At least have some ounce of manners and try to have a conversation longer than the usual one word replies." None of these fools would know manners if it bit them on the ass. They were highly rude and loud at that. Didn't they know that this wasn't their home until someone had the decency -for the life of me I can't figure out why- to welcome them into it. A little graditude went a long ways.

"So, where you headed off to in the middle of the night without a Slayer to back you up?" I wasn't offering.

Oh fuck! Did that sound like an offering? I hope not.

"Hey" I said, turning to the sound of the voice. I really hadn't expected anyone to notice my trying to sneak out of the complex.

"I don't think many inside are really in a sociable mood at the moment." I mean it was not like we had a whole lobby filled with social butterflies and I was assuming most were just tried from the long travel, which would explain their lack of talkativeness.

"I just felt the need to get out of the room, wasn't really planning on wandering far from the complex. Just was going to step outside and get a bit of fresh air."

At the moment? Please! Even I figred they most likely were never the socialable types. Except that brunette. Not the thin one. The more curvaceous one. The thin one seemed like she belonged in some kind of Hell dimension, buried in a cave. Far away from society.

But thank god! Dawn didn't see my statement as an offering. I really hadn't intended it to remotely sound like one. Much less be one.

"Well...as long as you aren't going far. I know your sister would probably chew your ear off if you did. Not that you can't handle your own. I am sure you can." I finished with a smile. I hated this good girl crap.

"I'm going to go catch up with some of the other girls that had been out. I'll see you later. Bye." And with that, I left. Walking away from the building and elsewhere.
