And the way he was looking at her, and asking if she was angry or was she trying to arouse him? Because he couldn't tell the difference

[The loud noises have attracted the boyfriend Deven, so he pokes his head in before entering (he's not stupid after all). Once inside, though, he grins at her, folding his arms and shaking his head.]

Now that's a grump if I ever saw one. Can I ask what those poor plants did to you?

[ She doesn't look up at Deven, she just scowls at the ground. ]

Not the plants, this Cardassian jerk I just met. Newbie to the station and he just--

[ She looks up and gives Deven a slightly helpless, but still angry look. ]

He goes on about diplomatic relations, all while sounding so egotistic and superior and then when I get a bit ticked about it? Yeah, he asks if I'm trying to "titillate" him.

[ There's a pause as she looks back at the ground. ]

Sorry. I'm not exactly in the best of moods.

[He moves over, and drops to his knees in front of her, reaching out hand to her cheek.]

[ The hand on her cheek is her undoing. ]

Look. I've got this reputation back home for flirting and, well. Sleeping around. But it's one thing to have someone hit on me. It's another thing entirely to have someone treat me like an inferior being, like dirt and then leer at me.

I worked damn hard to get where I am now. And even before then, Pike called me the Midwest's only genius level repeat offender and to me that means something. To have someone trample all over that...

It pisses me off.

[ she was seeing a lot of the gardens these days. but she figured this was the last place dukat would look if he took it upon himself to invite her out again. not as if she had anywhere else to be with these technical manuals. but then, of course, the natural peace of the place was disturbed by one very upset woman. gaila caught the majority of the her rant and set the journals down. ]

Let me guess... [ she took on a snide, immitating tone. ] Gul Dukat of the Cardassian Empire?

Oh god.

[ She rolls her eyes, but she can't help a small, sardonic smile. ]

I threatened to castrate him and he asked me if I was trying to titillate him. I'm guessing something like that happened with you too?

[ she gave her a wry grin. ]

Something like that. He took his time observing my "uniform." You'd think someone that proud of himself could come up with a better line.

That's gotta be one of the most obvious ones in the book. I bet even Spock could come up with a more creative pick up line. And that's saying something.

[Uhura's in the garden's herself, trying to break out of her own foul mood - she's still a little down about the events from the Ion storm. When Jimena comes storming in, she's startled out of her attempt at meditation.]

[She hears the end of her rant and raised an eyebrow at the unfamiliar (and yet somehow familiar) young, focusing her attention on her as she stands.]

Let me guess - you had an encounter with the captain?

No, actually, seeing as I'm an alternate version of your Captain Kirk.

I ran into some slime ball, calls himself "Gul Dukat of the Cardassian Empire." Total sleeze with a superiority complex the size of a Starbase.
