[This day brought with it a kind of restlessness that she could not have placed its origin or its reason- only that it was. She was hardly needed in sickbay at the moment, so she hadn’t exactly earned this rest, but she had it all the same.
Eventually, she had wandered her way back to the observation deck, though this time she lounged against the arm of one of the couches, feet tucked underneath her as she sipped from a mug of hot apple tea (she had discovered it on Earth during her stint at the Academy and it had since been one of her favorites) she had coaxed from one of the replicators on her way up.
After some time, she did manage to pin down exactly what it was that caused this restlessness- she had no work to do. Others were handling it- had been handling it- and she was, essentially, accessory- and hardly vital. She hadn’t noticed it at first since immediately following the ill-fated battle at Wolf 359, she had had wounded to take care of.
Now though…stranded in this place with no real sense of emergency, few injuries that required more than cursory treatment, and her knowledge base entirely wrong for working on the physics of the unique situation, she discovered that sitting still- while it had its advantages at first- was rapidly becoming tiresome- not that she wished any ill-will on the station’s residents.
In one sense, then, it was a blessing that she wasn’t busy.]
