[ kira had been trying to replicate some hasperat when the replicator had given her... she didn't want to know what. trying the comm to alert an engineer to the problem all she received was static. no doubt she'd find one, or they already knew. half-fortunately for her quark's was close enough; it was only at this situation when she was glad that he served food, and had opened up the bar again.

I don't think it is Odo, I've been having some problems with the replicators on another deck. I wouldn't say it was voles, more like something for an engineer to fix.

[ normally kira would be with odo on throwing quark out of the airlock, but this seemed more of a real problem. she stayed over at the bar, waiting till she was maybe needed ]

Well, actually Holly was most helpful. I was trying to find out where you were last night to inform you of this problem I had. And just on a whim I asked about the Major, she's no friend to voles either. Imagine my surprise when I was informed that both of you were in your quarters...

[ being able to listen in to conversations, or being able to hear someone coming had helped her in the past - sometimes also even presently to hear something others wouldn't want her to hear. what she could hear now? now she definitely had some urges to throw quark out of an airlock ]

[Quark almost jumped at her tone, and gave a resigned sigh. Kira had heard him? She had almost as good hearing as a ferengi. He walked over to her, but made sure to stay far enough away so as to be out of reach.

[Odo was a little mortified that Kira might have overheard them, so he made a show of making a thorough examination of the table. All the while still curious as to what she was going to say.]

You might want to remember that this isn't Deep Space Nine; we're not held by Federation rules here. There's nothing to stop that airlock being your new home.

[ nothing about what had been said was embarrassing or something which could cause implications; just quark poking his nose into her business as well as odo's didn't sit well with her. especially when said poking could create some very distasteful rumours ]
