'cause i'm being taken over by the fear. (open!)

[She was still running, getting as far from their quarters as she possibly could. Which wasn't easy when she was still feeling the effects of the agonizer from before, but she was trying not to think about the agonizers too much. She could still remember the pain, could still see Julian writhing on the ground, could still see her own expression as ( Read more... )

[ Lady Amanda had watched the young red head bolt into the room. She stayed silent for a sometime, watching her. Her kind were not known to run around free as she apparently seemed to be. Within this station there seemed to be many that needed a mothers touch. Gently she walked up in front of her, hands folded in front of her in a Vulcan manner. ]

[Gaila gasped, jumping when the other woman approached her, her back rigid against the back of the couch. She relaxed when she saw that the lady meant her no harm, but only marginally.]

I...

[Her voice sounded thick, unsteady. She swallowed and tried again.]

I'm sorry. I...I didn't know anyone else was in here.

I do not own the station or the room. As I see it, you are free to enter any room in this station. Well... I don't believe people would enjoy you barging into their personal rooms. But this isn't one of those.

[ She offered the young woman a kind smile. Her eyes glanced up as the lights flickered and she let out a weary sigh. ]

I see the storm rages on yet.

I wish it would just stop.

[The words were practically spit out, and she immediately regretted saying them - the woman didn't deserve that kind of treatment. She let out a watery sigh, pressing her hand over her eyes.]

I'm sorry. I just...it's been affecting people and it...it hasn't been good.

That was the inclination the station's systems gave. It recommended that for my own safety, I stay in here. Least to say it has been rather lonely.

[ Her head tilted slightly. It was obvious that the young woman had some run in with the events. ]

Would you like anything to eat? There is a replicator here.

[Her stomach rolled at the idea of food and she shook her head vehemently. But then, looking down at herself, she realized she could still use a change of clothing - she was still dressed in the leather outfit Julian had customized for her before.]

No. No thank you. But where is the replicator? I need new clothes.

[ Lady Amanda knew of the heritage of the young woman's people and chose not to comment. She gestured to the wall where the replicator sat. ]

Thank you.

[She nodded to the woman and stood, making her way over to the replicator and programming in a pair of loose black pants, a white t-shirt, and a sports bra. Not exactly the kind of attire she'd usually wear, not even to bed, but she was craving comfort and security. Once the clothes were replicated and gathered, she turned to Amanda, clothes gahtered to her chest.]

Is there somewhere I can change?

There is a restroom to the side.

[ Again she gestured. She was wife to an ambassador and could read the body language of others. Walking up to the young woman, even in friendship, would not help the situation. ]

[She nodded to Amanda and went into the restroom without another word. Once inside she pulled the ripped leather off as quickly as she could, kicking the articles of clothing off to the far corner of the room. She pulled the new clothing on slowly, closing her eyes. The soft fabrics were almost soothing after having spent so long in the confining cadets uniform and then in the binding leather.

After changing, she turned to the sink, turning the faucet on and splashing some cold water on her face before looking at her reflection.

She'd never seen herself like this. There were times in her life where she'd felt similar to how she was feeling now, but she'd had the luxury of not having a mirror to look into most of those times.

She'd never seen herself like...that before, either. Cold and unfeeling and brutal as she was inflicting pain on her other self. She could remember the look in her eyes, right before she'd passed out ( ... )

[ She heard the reaction but didn't barge in on the young woman. Instead she sat comfortably in the chair, waiting for her to come back out to the room. ]

[It was a few moment before she felt strong enough to get up, flush the mess away and turn back to the sink, where she rinsed out her mouth and splashed more water on her face. She still felt weak and unsteady and shaken, but a little less sick to her stomach now. That was a mild improvement.

She finally came out of the bathroom, eyes on the ground as she made her way back to her previous seat.]

[She glanced in the other woman's direction and sighed, shaking her head.]

Not really.

It's not your fault.

[It suddenly occurred to her that she was still unarmed and she didn't want to be caught without a weapon again, at least not as long as the storm was still outside. So she got up and made her way back to the replicator, programmed in a phaser, and waited.]
