[ somehow, he knew that the program would be there, silently thanking jadzia, despite the fact that a good level of his stress was centered around her, for having it available and saving him the trouble of having to program one himself. he did have to use his authority as a commander to set the level of difficult to the highest setting, but it was ( Read more... )

[After a short somewhat uncomfortable but welcome nap, Julian had found himself being ordered to have a hot meal before showing his face in sickbay again. Rather than argue with them all, he'd headed to the promenade to grab a bite to eat at the mess hall near the bar.

He stopped short in his tracks as he passed the bar, though, when he spied a battered looking Worf.]

Commander! What in devil's name have you been doing?

[He strode over quickly, eyeing the injuries and trying to determine whether the Klingon needed some proper medical attention. That would teach him to not carry a medical tricorder and emergency medical kit with him at all times.]

[ if anyone else had been shouting at him in such a manner, worf would have regarded them with a dark look of warning or ordered them to continue on their way, but as it were, it was the voice of the one person on this station whom worf felt entirely comfortable around. even with captain picard, it was somewhat awkward, being that the older man was from a point in time where will riker had yet to accept captaincy of the titan and worf hadn't taken the latter man's place as first officer of the enterprise. and after ezri's confusion over which host she was, things were, once again, awkward between the two of them. it was most frustrating -- but, enough of that. he wanted the duration of his day to stay in this temporary light-sided mood before he dived back into the emotional whirlpool that was his life on this station.

he would learn to cope. eventually. ]

Making good use of one of Jadzia's programs. I believe Captain Sisko would have called it venting.

Ah. I see.

[He continued his visual inspection, knowing full well that trying to poke and prod him would be very unwise.]

It all seems mostly superficial. But I'd still like you to present yourself for an examination later. To make sure none of those wounds become infected, and that you haven't broken any bones or strained any muscles. And that's an order as one of the CMO's on the station, even if you do outrank me.

[He gave him a wry smile and then took a seat next to him]

Jadzia's work out programs can be quite rigorous. I presume you managed to vent sufficiently?

[ worf set his jaw. he did not like having medical rank pulled on him, but could not bring himself to ignore regulation, not while serving under captain picard again. perhaps captain sisko would have shrugged and said "he's a klingon, what do you expect?" but it wouldn't be that way with the man he was serving now. he gave the doctor a look that said he would listen, but he wasn't going to vocalize as much. ]

I had to override the safety controls, but yes. It was...what I needed.

[ he hesitated. if there was anyone he could share this with it was bashir, so he might as well get it off his chest. ]

...Ezri thought she was Jadzia. And then Joran. It was...unsettling.

I'm glad to hear it.

[His tone was only faintly sarcastic, because in many ways he understood why Worf would be extremely agitated and frustrated. He just didn't like the idea of the klingon allowing himself to be hurt in order to achieve some kind of equilibrium

His attention then shifted, though, when he heard what Worf said next.]

I'm sure that it was. I observed what you're talking about in all of the three Daxes. For some reason Emony is dealing with it the best, probably due to only having two other hosts. As for Ezria and Jadzia...I have to admit that I'm worried about them. Each of the hosts seem to be erratically surfacing at various times, and it's causing great strain on them both.

[He looked down at his hands, one of which was pushing a drink mat around in random circles on the counter.]

Three? Emony Dax is present on this station?

[ he knew who emony was. he knew who all the hosts were, from lela up until ezri. worf had listened intently whenever jadzia spoke of any of them. emony was the gymnast. ]

When I found Ezri, she was in a room that, had this been DS9, would have been the Bajoran Temple. She was...hallucinating Jadzia's death.

Yes, she is. She's in sickbay with the other two. It's rather strange seeing a previous host in the flesh. Quite the pretty blonde, actually. But...well, she's no Jadzia.

[Worf would know exactly what he meant. But then he processed the latter statement and his face paled considerably.]

Oh my god. That's awful. No-one should have to relive that kind of trauma.
