3 carved tree ceramic pot
I threw this tiny pot, carved 3 trees into it, bisque fired it, painted amber glaze over the trees and dipped the rim in as well, then clear glazed the inside of the pot. Click on the image to see a larger verion - nearly full size. My other 3 pots I glazed are being fired as I type. Only a few more classes left in the semester. Time flies.
I sucked on the wheel today. I could not center to save my life. I was trying to throw 2 kinds of clay at once to get the marble effect. The texture of it threw me off. I made a ball of white, cut it into 4 sections, cut slabs of brown clay to fit in between and then slapped it together into a ball shape and tried to throw it. I'll stick with the carving out groves and putting coils of the alternate color in, it worked much easier for me last time.
