I'm at work and it's so dragging.
I went to the Doc's today to get the results of the thyroid test and to get my NEW prescription for my BP (damn you family history of high blood pressure!) and to get a recommendation for a dermatologist. I love my doctor. Well, for the first time ever he was backed up, so my 2:30 appt turned into 3ish and he was so upset about it. But the thyroid thingies were fine. One result was elevated (it was high-normal) and he said that it was actually a good thing 'cause it would help with weight loss. Ugh, another dead end to the mystery of my hair falling out, but what're you gonna do? I got the name of the dermatologist and the new prescription.
But there is a new mystery afoot called "Why am I waking up with crippling shoulder pain?" The short answer is the assholic way I sleep, so I'm on muscle relaxers before sleep and probably physical therapy. Great! What ever happened to the good old days when I would just ignore any and all physical ailments and just go about my business? Oh, that's right. That horrific anxiety attack in August where you thought you were having a heart attack and that scared you straight? Yeah, I remember that. I'm not much looking to have a repeat of that, so I think I'll just stay on this, thank you very much.
In lighter news:
I had a coworker come up to us today (me, my maid of honor and another coworker) and she's like:
"Oh my god! I don't know what to do!"
*Here's me sighing*
"Okay," I said, "what happened?"
So she proceeds to tell us this 'story' (legal disclaimer: this is a purely fictional account that should not in any way be considered true events or that can serve as the basis of a deposition) about how she was running late to work a couple of mornings ago and her neighbor NEVER parks a car in his driveway so she gunned it in reverse and HIT the car that is NEVER there and she took off. Really, textbook hit & run, if you want to get technical.
Her concern however, is that now the VICTIM of this is looking for the person that dinged his car and she's afraid of getting caught.
I said, "Well, fess up. You screwed up the guy's car. It IS your fault."
Everyone else was giving her advice on the "cover-up" and how they know someone who can do body work on her bumper in an afternoon, etc, etc.
I officially excused myself from the conversation at this point and turned around and got back to my book. So a little times goes by and she says that she thinks her next door neighbor has one of those surveillance camera deelios and that it could possibly have been caught on film.
I turn around. "So fess up! Go over to the guy and apologize!'
More hemming and hawing.
Everyone's got an opinion and they're just talking about what could happen if the jerk (the VICTIM of this crime, mind you) finds out it's her and what she can do to avoid him.
I'm a little disgusted at this point, "What about your moral and ethical responsibility? Anyone?"
A moment of silence. Someone looks at me like I'm an idiot and then more hemming and hawing. But I think that possibly, she may fess up.
Just another day.
