...as all the little things going wrong this morning will attest. However there is no time to worry about fiddling little issues. For the next few days it's all a ramp up to get things ready for the Scottish dance party on Thursday. For the next three evenings it's finish making some presents for teachers/musicians, wrap presents for teachers/musicians, shop for food and other supplies, bake, cook, otherwise create food, get out decorations, pack needed decorations for transport, etc. Then Thursday it's all party prep, all day. Thursday night is the party. And then Friday I fall over.
And of course now we finally have Bay Area winter weather this week. This is all well and good because we need the rain, but it will make my life miserable. Especially if it rains on Thursday (looks about 50/50 chance according to the weather websites) which will hamper preparations and keep people from going out in the icky weather and the traffic it generates to come to the party. Ah well, all I can do it leap forward with the full faith that it will all work out somehow.
Meanwhile Adam is on antibiotics, two pills a day for a week. Nothing like having to pill a cat 14 times in one of my busiest weeks of the year. At least he only minorly objects, meaning it is possible to get the pill in him in less than an hour without three people to hold him down. Then he hates me for an hour and is afraid to let me near. Hopefully he will get more relaxed about it as the week progresses rather than worse. I've been giving treats afterwards to try and convince him it isn't all bad... Who knows if that will help. At least it will be over before I leave on my trip next week so I don't have to convince my cat sitter to shove pills down my cat's throat.
And of course at work we have deadlines at the end of this month and everyone (including me) is taking vacation days meaning we're all trying to get a boatload of things done before that. *sigh* No taking off work early the next 3 days to get party stuff done.
Saturday though I get to reward myself for all the week's work by going to the
Dickens Faire with the housemates. Yay! Then it's pack everything up for the trip to TX for Christmas. I'm actually looking forward to another Monday... Monday the 29th, because while I'll be back at work, at least this whole thing will be over.
