Well, no one even tried to guess over the weekend. I kept waiting to post new clues until someone even replied, but it didn't happen. No more waiting, there are new quotes. I don't know if any of them will help, they're just for fun. So I'll also put up non-quote clues and hopefully that will spark something, otherwise I'll just let it end.
-----
1. You know what they say. No life without wife.
1a. -Mother thinks that any single man with big bucks is shopping for a wife.
-I'm embarrassed to say, but I hope he is.
-What, shopping or loaded?
-Well... both!
1b. I'm a hopeless dancer, but this looks like you just screw in a light bulb with one hand and pat the dog with the other.
1c. (bonus quote) When I first met you I thought you were rude, selfish and arrogant. Over the past few days, I thought maybe I was wrong. But I was right. You are the last person I would ever want to be with!
1 (non-quote clue). Bollywood-style film adaptation of one of the obvious books, but not actually an Indian film. Filmed in English and Hindi, and Punjabi.
===Bride and Prejudice (

2. We do not forget you as soon as you forget us. We cannot help ourselves. We live at home, quiet, confined, and our feelings prey upon us. You always have business of some sort or other to take you back into the world.
2a. -You, have an extraordinary ability to discompose my friend, sir.
-And you have an extraordinary ability to influence her, ma'am, for which I find it hard to forgive you.
2b. I strongly object to the Navy. It brings people of obscure birth into undue distinction and it cuts up a man's youth and vigor most horribly!
2c. (bonus quote) -Have you thought any more about my offer?
-What offer was that?
-My offer to flatter and adore you all the days of your life.
-I haven't had a moment, Mr Elliot, to turn my mind to it.
2 (non-quote clue). Film adaptation of one of the obvious books given the theme. Spinster re-meeting her first love.
===Persuasion (no one guessed it)
-----
7. Maria was married on Saturday. In all important preparations of mind she was complete, being prepared for matrimony by a hatred of home, by the misery of disappointed affection, and contempt of the man she was to marry. The bride was elegantly dressed and the two bridesmaids were duly inferior. Her mother stood with salts, expecting to be agitated, and her aunt tried to cry. Marriage is indeed a maneuvering business.
7a. -And a woman's poverty is a slavery even more harsh than a man's.
-Mm, arguable. But it need not be your lot. You can live out your days in comfort... with me.
-I know.
-You do?
-Yes.
-Is that a yes?
-Yes.
7b. Your keen adaptability to my brother's possible demise sends a chill through my heart. A chill. Happily planning parties with his money. You shush my father like a dog at your table, and then you attack Fanny for following her own, infallible guide concerning matters of the heart. All of this leads me to believe that the person I've been so apt to dwell on for many months has been a figure of my own imagination.
7c. (bonus quote) But what I am keen to know is which gentleman among you am I to have the pleasure of making love to?
7 (non-quote clue). Film adaptation of one of the obvious books given the theme. Underprivileged cousin being brought up by rich relatives.
===Mansfield Park (

9. Isn't physical attraction one of the ungovernable forces? You know like gravity, that's what we like about it. Down hill, release the breaks, loosen the breaks and then whoosh!
9a. -You know what I'm wondering before I go? How do you feel about older women?
-Ah, great. I have three older sisters, so I like all women.
9b. -If we stay in this lane, we're going to be late.
-Given that I have to convert donut grease into biofuel every time I fill up the tank, I try not to drive very fast.
-We're barely moving... Why are you getting off here?
-I enjoy seeing the river.
-What are you, Mark Twain? Now we're gonna get stuck at every light.
9c. (bonus quote) -All Jane Austen, all the time. It's the perfect antidote.
-To what?
-To life.
9 (non-quote clue). Very recent movie (2007). Ensemble cast. Based on a book not written by Jane Austen.
